Jose Luis Ascaso, founder of Ascaso, was an entrepreneur who wasn't afraid of hard work and combined those character traits early in life to begin what is now an extremely reputable, world-wide known espresso machine manufacturing company. Born in a small town in northern Spain, he quickly realized he needed to be somewhere that afforded more opportunities and ventured to Barcelona with just dreams and about $30 to his name. He worked for Gaggia for a time during the fifties, when espresso was just finding its popularity in Spain. Production and distribution of spare parts for espresso machines had become an exclusive and very expensive market, and Jesus, ever the entrepreneur, decided to supply parts of all brands to the market and at lower prices. This was in 1962, and the very start of his own company, one that manufactured spare parts alone. Now, Ascaso sells to over 50 countries and offers everything from spare parts to extremely high quality coffee and espresso machines and even coffee grinders. He spends half his time in the factory and the other six months of the year he lives in his original hometown and tends his tomato plants and honey crops.

High Quality Ascaso Coffee Grinders

Ascaso offers three types of coffee grinders, each of which has varying models. They use only the best professional blades, and depending on which you prefer, you can choose from a brass group with a flat grinding wheel system or a plastic group with a cone shaped grinding wheel that features cone steel blades. Each coffee grinder is equipped with the Micrometric Regulations system (MRS), also known as the "stepless adjustment" that is capable of even the most minute, precise adjustments, ideal for espresso grinding. Easily grinds anything from espresso and long black to French press and Turkish. Ascaso hoppers are guaranteed to be unbreakable and are made of clear, shatter-resistant plastic. The i1-i2 and i-mini are made with aluminum and are each individually hand polished to provide a piece that is unique and special to you and you alone. The i-steel is, of course, 100% stainless steel.
